Safe by design
What we do, and what we never do
Children are safest when the rules are simple, visible and kept. These are ours.
Two vetted adults in every room
Every adult who works with children at Aivy Academy is vetted before they start.
- Every session has a lead instructor and an assistant.
- Each adult has police clearance from every country they have lived in during the last five years.
- Each adult is trained in safeguarding.
- Any concern about a child's safety is reported, as UAE law requires.
- No adult is ever alone with a child.
Written consent, always
- Your child takes part only with your written consent.
- Photos and videos of your child need your written consent.
- From Builders, access to Aivy's supervised AI sandbox needs your written consent too.
- You can withdraw consent at any time.
- The forms are signed before the first session.
AI use by age
In every band, children never chat with an AI alone.
Ages 6–8
The instructor drives every AI tool on the big screen. Children have no AI logins.
Ages 9–11
Children train their own models on gestures, objects and sounds, with no AI logins. Any generative AI is demonstrated by the instructor on the big screen.
Ages 12–14
Students use Aivy's own supervised sandbox. Logins use a pseudonym, never a real name; content is filtered; and every conversation is logged for the lead instructor to review. A notice always says 'you are talking to an AI', and no bot is presented as a friend. AI-assisted coding is unlocked only after a hand-coded Code Sense Check.
Ages 15–17
The same supervised sandbox as Builders, under the same rules. Students must also be able to explain every line of code an AI helped them write.
Recordings and data
- No child's face is used to train anything. Models are trained on toys, gestures and sounds.
- Nothing children make is used to train external AI models.
- The assistant films the weekly clip, using your child's first name only. It is shared only with you, and deleted from academy devices once it is uploaded.
- Voice recordings stay on academy devices and are wiped each term.
- No personal social media or AI accounts are created in class.
This website collects nothing from children: the waitlist asks for your child's age band, never their name or photo. The privacy notice has the detail.
Devices and screen time
- Devices are academy-managed or supervised, with web filtering.
- Explorers spend roughly half of every session away from screens, much of it on the floor with robots, cards and role-play.
- From Makers up, every session has a break away from screens.
- Cameras are covered when not in use.
Raising a concern
If anything worries you, tell us straight away.
We respond personally.
What we never do
- Let a child chat with an AI alone.
- Create public AI logins for under-13s.
- Use children's faces to train anything.
- Frame AI as a friend or a companion.
- Share a child's clip with anyone but their own parent.
